The word Senergy or synergy comes from the Greek word sunergos.  It is used in the Bible in 2Cor. 1:24.

Paul says writing to the church at Corinth:

" Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are HELPERS OF YOUR JOY: for by faith you stand. "

The word synergy is used in science to describe the working together of two things (muscles or drugs for example) to produce an effect greater than the sum of their individual effects.  This means that when you take two chemicals that laying beside each other are dormant and mix them together, the resulting effect can be quite powerful! A simple example in your kitchen is baking soda and vinegar.  Quite fizzy.

In music, a song or an orchestra are great examples.  Each part of the melody, lyrics, beat must come together just as each instrument must harmoniously unite to form a beautiful sound.

The human body is yet another example of synergy in motion. Each time we blink or swat a fly, just think how many parts of the boldy work together with synergistic  unity to produce the desired motion.  God created us to be synergistic beings.  He refers to the Christian Church as the Body of Christ.  We are supposed to work together.  Unfortunately, this is seldom the case.  Because of this lack of functionality, the Christian Faith is on the decline in the US.
